Inspirational stories part 8 :The Wise Elephant and the String
Inspirational stories part 8 :The Wise Elephant and the String
In a tranquil jungle, there lived a wise old elephant named Ganesh. Animals from near and far sought his guidance, and he was known for his profound wisdom.
One day, a little bird approached Ganesh, carrying a thin string in its beak. The bird asked, “Dear Ganesh, can you tell me the strength of this string?”
Ganesh gently replied, “To understand the strength of the string, you must first tell me what it’s made of.”
The bird chirped, “It’s made of the finest fibers of the jungle, woven together with great care.”
Ganesh nodded and said, “To truly know its strength, let’s put it to the test.”
The elephant and the bird collaborated, tying the string between two trees. Ganesh gently pulled the string, testing its resilience. The string held strong.
Then, the bird, with its light beak, gave it a gentle tug. The string stretched but didn’t break.
Next, a monkey swung from the string, adding more weight. The string bent but held firm.
Finally, a rabbit hopped along the string. To everyone’s surprise, the string remained intact.
The little bird exclaimed, “The string is stronger than I thought!”
Ganesh, with a wise smile, shared a lesson, “Life is like this string. Its strength lies not just in its material but in its ability to withstand challenges. Just as the string held firm under different pressures, our strength is tested by life’s experiences. Remember, resilience and the ability to endure make you stronger.”
The little bird, grateful for the wisdom, flew away with a newfound understanding of strength.
Moral of the story: True strength lies not only in our composition but in our ability to endure and bounce back from life’s challenges. Like the string, resilience and the capacity to withstand pressure make us stronger.
